संयुक्त राष्ट्र । संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस ने अमनदीप सिंह गिल को प्रौद्योगिकी के लिए अपना दूत नियुक्त किया है।
गिल इंटरनेशनल डिजिटल हेल्थ एंड आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस रिसर्च कोलैबोरेटिव प्रोजेक्ट के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) हैं।
उन्होंने पहले जिनेवा (2016-2018) में निरस्त्रीकरण सम्मेलन में भारत के राजदूत एवं स्थायी प्रतिनिधि के रूप में कार्य किया है।
गुटेरेस के मुख्य प्रवक्ता स्टीफन दुजारिक ने कहा, "गिल डिजिटल प्रौद्योगिकी के एक विचारशील नेता है।उन्हें डिजिटल प्रौद्योगिकी का गहन ज्ञान है।"
इससे पहले गिल डिजिटल सहयोग (2018-2019) पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव के उच्च स्तरीय पैनल के कार्यकारी निदेशक एवं सह-प्रमुख के तौर पर काम कर चुके हैं।
वह 1992 में भारत की राजनयिक सेवा में शामिल हुए और तेहरान तथा कोलंबो में अपनी सेवा देने के साथ-साथ निरस्त्रीकरण और रणनीतिक प्रौद्योगिकियों तथा अंतरराष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा मामलों में विभिन्न पदों पर सेवा दी है।
